Lieutenant Colonel Andrew “Andy” Leeman serves as the Deputy Commander for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Europe District.
LTC Leeman most recently served at U.S. Army Special Operations Command, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he spent four years in various command and staff positions.
Leeman graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2008 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Corps of Engineers. His first assignment was to 2nd Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, where he served as a Light Equipment & Sapper Platoon Leader, and a Sapper Company Executive Officer. He subsequently served as Aide-de-Camp to the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers South Pacific Division in San Francisco, California.
Following this assignment, LTC Leeman reported to Fort Carson, Colorado, where he held multiple staff positions and commanded the 569th Mobility Augmentation Company. After company command, he attended Advanced Civil Schooling at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Operations and Project Management. He next served as an Area Engineer for the Norfolk District’s Northern Virginia Area Office at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, before reporting to Fort Bragg to serve in U.S. Army Special Operations Command.
LTC Leeman deployed twice with the 82nd Airborne Division (Operation Unified Response – Haiti, 2010; Operation New Dawn – Iraq, 2011) and with USASOC in support of operations in multiple countries.
His military education includes the Engineer Basic Officer Leader Course, Engineer Captains Career Course, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Ranger School, Airborne School, and the Joint Engineer Operations Course, among others.
LTC Leeman is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Missouri and a certified Project Management Professional.
His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal, Ranger Tab, Parachutist Badge, and the Bronze de Fleury Medal.
